Abstract:
This Disclosure proposes a system
and method to allow a content provider (video, music provider etc) to sell ad content on the fly to nearby retailers based on the user's proximity.

Background:
The problem is that customers receive pre-determined ads which may not be tailored to their location. Further, retailers are spending money on ad platforms to target customers that may not be anywhere near their location.

What is needed is a way for a retailer to inject new content or interact with the customer in real-time.

In order to do this, the app and device should broadcast their capacity to present an ad for near-by systems to capture and provide content to the user. This will allow ads to be sold on the fly and if no ad is purchased, the generic ad is presented from the generic marketing campaign.

Description:

-    Or opt-in manually to this service specifically
-    The device / app broadcasts it's capacity to consume ads

  •  ad is targeted for 2 min from now
  •  30 sec ad

-    Retailer opts to contribute ad

  •  based on customers current location
  •  based on getting information about the user

-   Sell pre-determined ad space (music) to nearby retailer (dynamically).

  •  request to consume the capacity
  •  offer payment / account information
  •  link to add content or reference to ad location

-   When the time comes, ad is presented

  •  can be on head buds

-   Results are sent back to the purchaser

  •  if they listened til the end
  •  if it was skipped
  •  if they clicked

-   The ad could be interactive

  • voice response towards the ad
  • retailer / advertiser / content provider receive this information

In an alternate embodiment, the message can be non advertisement related:
 -   Parent reminders to kids

  •  to do list

-   The result of the ad can be to open an app
-   The app can be interacted with

  •  ad: "don't forget to do your homework"
