The pandemic in Mexico, as in the rest of the world, brought with it many changes in our lives, especially in work life. With social distancing practices and other safety procedures in place, many employees started working remotely full-time and communications through video conferencing became standard. And while employees discovered many advantages of working from home, they found they missed the closeness that comes from personal interactions while being in shared spaces with colleagues, clients, and business partners.

By mid-2021 Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions had committed to opening new offices in Mexico City, allowing employees to slowly resume face-to-face activities. On December 9, 2021, that became a reality, and the opening of the new Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions offices in Mexico was celebrated. With the support of Toshiba business partners, Datalogic and Intel, a special in-person grand opening event, in compliance with safety practices, was hosted with clients, business partners, and friends.

“We planned this event with great detail because our most important players were coming. The opening of these new offices is a monumental step for us because we were doing business through a screen and now we are working together again and celebrating our alliance and business," noted Erika García, Mexico & LCR Channel Sales Manager.

During the grand opening, guests mingled enjoyed food and drinks, and watched the latest retail-hardened video series. The event culminated in a ribbon-cutting by Manuel Medécigo, Sales Director of Mexico and Central America, Bill Campbell, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Sales, and Erika García.

It was great to celebrate this event with our clients and business partners and were especially excited to hear the kind words from attendees, including Director and Founder of Ambit Technology, Allan Arditti, who remarked “when we did our research, there was no brand who had greater value and reputation than Toshiba, which is why we joined them. We know that in 2022 we will close many new projects working as a team."

“It was a very tough and challenging 2021, with many critical moments, but at the end of the day, with a lot of learnings. We have overcome all the bumps in the road, and they have made us stronger,” commented Manuel Medécigo. In 2022, with our brand new Mexico City facility, we are looking forward to the opportunity to work more closely with our customers and business partners to meet their expectations and be the partners they expect.”

Toshiba is ready to start this new chapter in Mexico and it would not have been possible without the strength of a great ecosystem and the trust of our customers. Today more than ever we know that success is as a team and together we will have an unparalleled 2022.
