Abstract:
This Disclosure proposes a method of hierarchy where the system can choose the best combination of devices registered on the network and suggest the best device combination vs. Screen size vs. Resolution vs. Speed for the tasks at hand. This will provide the best possible experience based on available devices and bandwidth for the user. The system administrator can also dynamically adjust bandwidth limits on specific devices.

Background:
The problem is because of Covid-19 many families must work and take online classes from home. Bandwidth quickly becomes a problem when everyone is trying to access the network at the same time. The number of devices on the network is also growing with some devices supporting up to 8K video. i.e., mobile phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, large HD TV streaming. This problem is compounded by some users on neighborhood wide networks as soon as everyone gets up and starts their work / school / play day the connection slows to a crawl.

Description:
This concept describes a method of hierarchy where the system can choose the best combination of devices registered on the network and suggest the best device combination vs. Screen size vs. Resolution vs. Speed for the tasks at hand. This will provide the best possible experience based on available devices and bandwidth for the user. The system administrator can also dynamically adjust bandwidth limits on specific devices.

One example could be the Mom is on a Zoom call for work, while the oldest son is taking an online test, the youngest son is playing on his X box. The Mom is the system administrator, and she is alerted that bandwidth is a problem. The choice is presented to change devices for a smooth experience or limit other devices on the network. The next user in the hierarchy will get the message to change device or resolution / performance.

The bandwidth request can be initiated by the administrator and may involve acceptance from the user or proposed mitigation.

This could also become predictive, adjust more to one user or another at specific times. Could check with calendars etc.

The content resolution could be adjusted on the fly to help the buffering process. I could select between pivotal vs filler. The system buffers at the worst time. If I could choose 420 vs 1080 for example to allow for additional buffering, I could make sure the pivotal content is smooth and good resolution vs. what I see as filler. i.e., the commentators vs the game.

People rely on good bandwidth for business: The presentation for work is more important than level 10,000,000 on a popular Video Game.
