Abstract:
This disclosure proposes a multi-functional QR code scanner that can scan a fingerprint and any 1D or 2D (barcode/QR code) using the same scanner.
Background:
In a recent All in One System project, we have three different optical cameras to achieve three different features,
1. facial recognition
2. Fingerprint reader
3. Bar code or QR code scanner
The Fingerprint reader and QR code reader are normally located on the side of the host system and should be able to leverage to each other for a better investment perspective
Description:
Our claim is to do some mechanical work to achieve this goal - a multiple function scanner device, please refer to the attach drawing
In a normal usage, it is a bar code reader and the focus range is targeting to be 10cm-35cm.
If there is a finger pressing over the lens of the scanner, the pressing force will trigger the optical zooming system and be able to focus on the finger. (which may be less than 2cm based on the enclosure design). Once the finger pressing force removed, it will be returned to a normal barcode reader. (the focus range will be back to 10cm-35cm as predefined)
