In this course, you will learn the software architecture of the CHEC solution, the tools provided in the SDK, installation and configuration. You will also learn how to make basic extensions, such as replacing graphics, colors, and labels in the GUI and changing audio in the Lane.
This course uses hands-on exercises to reinforce the materials presented with some light work with XML, properties and SQL scripts.

Toshiba’s self-service solutions offer powerful and flexible integration and customization options for retailers and integrators. There are many hardware configurable options to choose from and many options to configure and enhance the software. Because of this complexity, integrator must follow a well-defined, repeatable process from the moment they engage with a potential customer, all the way through pilot and beyond. What happens after pilot is as critical as everything you must do to get there. What should be the ratio of self-checkout lanes to traditional terminals? Where should the lanes be placed to maximize usability for the customer? What are the power and networking needs of the lanes, and what is the best way to supply them? How will interventions at the lanes (such as ID checks) be handled?
To properly prepare a customer to overcome these obstacles, and to get the lanes installed and running smoothly in the store, you will need to be able to answer these questions. In this course, you will learn the skills necessary for a CHEC pilot and rollout.
