Abstract:
This disclosure proposes a method where the customer with a loyalty card is enticed to scan their loyalty card at the beginning of the shopping experience, as opposed to always at the end to facilitate a store/user created shopping list.
Background:
Presently most customers scan their store loyalty card at checkout. While this does provide the customer access to special prices it does not allow the store to be able to offer incentives to the customer as they shop.
Description:
Scanning the loyalty card at entry enhances the customers’ ability to:
- Access a pre-arranged list that either the store could create, or the customer could create. For example (birthday event, Anniversary, standard Grocery list, sporting event) The customer can mark in advance items they would usually get for an event and/or store could have pre-selected list for events made and available in the app. (Product Companies could pay the store premiums to be on their customized list. Examples = Coke pays more to be on the sporting event list, then Pepsi, etc.). Customer can then access those lists and upon entering store and be directed to sales on those particular items and their location) App would keep record of instore frequency.
- find items specific to that store and where it is in that store configuration. (Scanning your loyalty card instore ...or clicking entry on store's mobile App) to facilitate this feature
- entry scanning loyalty could, per users’ choice, activate a family grocery list. SMS or app message to family that you just arrived at the store... give them a chance to enter items they may want the in-store friend/family/roommate, etc. to purchase.
- allow for rewards to be seen/used by customer in advance once they enter the store...as opposed to when they show loyalty card at the end of store transaction.
