Abstract:
This disclosure proposes a quick-release mechanism that utilizes a spring, slider, and handle. It automatically locks the cover in place when closed, and the cover can be released by manually operating the handle to detach it.

Background:
To quickly replace or repair the internal components, the machine’s enclosures usually require a quick-release mechanism to reduce maintenance time.
This disclosure proposes a quick-release mechanism that automatically locks the cover in place when closed, and the cover can be released by manually operating the handle to detach it.

Description:

Detailed Concept:

  • The cover has a feature that combines the functions of a latch and cam.
  • A spring-secured slider mechanism is mounted on the internal structure.
  • The slider has a notch for hooking the latch and a slope for pushing the latch.

Operation:

When the user caps the cover, the latch on the cover will push the slider on the structure, guiding the cover into its fixed position. (Use the slider show to play the animation of the cover and slider motion)

When the cover reaches its position, the slider will automatically spring back to secure the cover.

When the user detaches the cover, he can push on the handle and unlatch the latch from the notch, and the slope will push the cover out of its fixed position

Claims:

  • A quick-release mechanism, comprising:
  • A movable part, the movable part being provided with a latch, wherein the latch has a hook and cam function;
  • A fixed part, the fixed part being provided with a slider, the slider being connected to the fixed part by a spring, and the slider having a notch, a slope, and a handle;
  • Wherein, when the movable part is installed on the fixed part, the latch pushes the slider, and when the movable part reaches a predetermined position, the slider automatically rebounds by the action of the spring, thereby securing the movable part to the fixed part; when the movable part is to be removed, the handle of the slider is pushed, causing the latch to disengage from the notch, and utilizing the slope on the slider to push the hook outward, thus allowing the movable part to detach from the fixed part.
  • The quick-release mechanism according to claim 1, wherein the spring is a compression spring, used to push the slider back when the movable part reaches the predetermined position.
  • The quick-release mechanism according to claim 1, wherein the cam function of the latch cooperates with the slope of the slider to allow the movable part to automatically disengage from the fixed part when the slider is pushed.
