Abstract:
This disclosure proposes to design a flexible logo position for both portrait and landscape mode for Display and All in One Products that can be mounted in different orientations.
Background:
During the recent All in One product phase III design review, one issue was brought up that the logo is on the the side rotated 90 degrees when the Display is mounted in portrait mode. If we want to make the logo on the bottom or top with correct orientation, we will need to customize the touch panel. This will increase additional configurations of the All in One with different logo placements and is not a cost effective solution such as we need to support two different cover lens which not only increase the inventory cost and management cost but also add the new cover lens tooling cost as well.
Description:
The TOSHIBA logos are going to be printed on the touch display with around 30% transparency in positions that support both Portrait and Landscape orientations. If the LED (backlight of the logo) is not turned on, we are not able to see any logo on the display. There are LEDs under the 30% transparent logos. When the LED is turned on, we can see the logo clearly. We can control which LED to be turned on in different mounting orientations. (such as leveraging the G sensor implemented in the current All in One system units)
In current design, one single part number can’t support both Portrait and Landscape orientations.

Dual Logo Position - With this design the LEDs under the appropriate Logo can to turned on to illuminate the Logo that matches the orientation.
