Abstract:
T
his Disclosure proposes a mechanism to easily open plastic bags and auto-sanitizes the bags when customers put their hands on plastic bags.

Background:
In the days with low humidity, it is observed that some customers are frustrated when they can't easily open plastic bags at the grocery store. Also, we find this case applies to those people whose finger skin is dry. Additionally, sanitizing in a public area becomes more and more indispensable after COVID-19. Even when customers rub the plastic bag hard, they cannot open the plastic bag with ease because of either a low humidity environment or their dry finger skin. This problem is caused by static electricity on the plastic bag. Under low humidity condition, electric charges accumulate on the plastic bag, so plastic bag cannot be opened smoothly. Moreover, people become cautious on hygiene issues (such as COVID-19...etc.), so sanitizing in public area is more important.

A mechanism is designed to increase the humidity level and also offers a sanitizing function when plastic bags are picked up by customers.

Description:
A mechanism is designed on the plastic bag hanger. With sensor detecting and a hole at the top point of the hanger. The hanger will spray sanitizer onto the bag when the user reaches for the bag. Meanwhile, the solution mist will reduce static electricity then the bag can be opened easily.
