Abstract:
This Disclosure proposes a service that could be integrated into current map platforms. This service will allow users to rate and consult information about an area, a street, or a route.
Background:
Currently, there are a number of map applications available to bring information about a location, to help the user to choose the fastest route from a location to another, but the user doesn't have the possibility to rate the street and give its own feedback about the route the application recommends. This system is intended to receive user's feedback about street, places, routes etc.
Description:
This new functionality should allow the users to rate a whole route and/or each street and this information can be taken to choose a place to visit or a route to transit. The system allows the user to identify locations with security problems or structure issues telling some examples and let the user to choose a route to take not only based on traffic statistics. This service could be integrated into current map applications to offer new routes to the final user and consulting this user's and other user's feedback information.
Usages:
- The final user opens the map application/platform, which determines its geolocalization allowing to rate by street, route, area, city, etc.
- The final user provides a destination, then the map application/platform returns different kind of routes (faster, secure, not structure problems, etc.) allowing the user to select whichever it wants.
Claims:
A central database which can be accessed by different devices and technologies through web services technology.
Enabling Technology:
Web Services to allow the user feedback and requests.
