Abstract:
This disclosure proposes a method of keeping a customer at the curbside pickup zone updated on the status of their order delivery in real time while he/she is waiting in the store staff to carry out the goods.
Background:
Assumptions:
1. A Curbside Delivery Status Customer Display (CDsCD) is an addition to the idea Computer Vision Curbside Pickup Assistant (CVCPA) previously disclosed in a TGCS Disclosure therefore it will be mentioned below as part of integral part of the current disclosure.
2. The customer display system will support the following status:
· Car is pulling in the parking spot – light off
· Car is in complete stop – yellow
· Order is being looked up – yellow blinking
· Order found – green
· Order not found - red
· Order is being carried out - green
· Order delivered – light off
3. Driver/customer will be provided with instructions or elaborations what each color means
4. Curbside Delivery Status Customer Display system must be integrated with store/enterprise ordering system to get order status
5. Each curbside pickup location will be equipped with Curbside Delivery Status Customer Display
6. The proposed solution is covering “vanilla” scenarios and will/can be expanded
during prototype HW and solution design
Solution:
1. A car in complete stop at the curbside pickup location.
2. The CDsCD will change the color to yellow
3. If Computer Vision Curbside Pickup Assistant is not in place webcam will automatically take a picture of the car otherwise a customer will contact the store via text or call
4. While an order is being looked up the CDsCD will be blinking with yellow
5. If Transaction found automatically by CVCPA or manually by store staff the CDsCD will turn green
6. When the car leaves the parking lot the light will be tuned off
