Abstract:
This disclosure proposes a shopping cart with a simple, stable and safe step up so that users can feel safer getting the item off the top shelf themselves.

Background:
When shopping, there are times when you can not reach the top shelf in order to get items that you would like.   The best case would be to call someone in the store to help you, but in most cases people will simply climb their way to getting the item they want.  Either by climbing on the cart ( not a good idea with current carts as they are on wheels ) or by climbing the shelf..

Description:
This invention is to provide a simple, stable and safe step up so that users can feel safer getting the item off the top shelf themselves.

To do this, we will create mechanical switch that will do two things at the same time.

First when pushed, this switch will engage a simple wheel lock on all 4 wheels of the shopping cart at once.  This will enable a stable platform that will NOT roll when used to help step up.

Second, the switch will extend a step, with a kickstand under it to also provide stability.  This step will come out from under the carts handle bar, so that the handle bar can also be used to provide a grip for stability.

When fully extended the step, will have a kickstand that is right above the ground in case the cart were to tilt with weight on it.
