Abstract:
This disclosure proposes the use of a mesh storage network across all the semi integrated payment solutions within the store. This allows them to greatly increase the durability of the data across the devices for the offline queues without the need of bringing in a separate piece of hardware
Background:
In a Retail Store that offers a semi integrated payment solution that is deployed to different terminals in the store and communicates to the cloud, it is an issue if the system goes offline due to either hardware failure or loss of connection to the cloud. The solution needs a mechanism to persist offline queues in case of a hardware failure and WAN offline scenarios.
Description:
Rather than relying on an additional systems, we propose the use of a mesh storage network across all the semi integrated payment solutions within the store. This allows them to greatly increase the durability of the data across the devices for the offline queues without the need of bringing in a separate piece of hardware. By storing the offline queues in a distributed faction across all the semi integrated payment devices, we remove the need of separate back device and increase the failure tolerance of the system.
