Abstract:
This disclosure proposes a
new mechanism for bagger stability and better solution for assembly.

Background:
One customer complained in the store that a customer dropped some heavy merchandise on the bagger sharply and it caused the bagger to fall out of the structure of the SCO system.  There are several Customer Issues raised  and these need to be solved.

Description:
Our idea is to use a non-Newtonian fluid in pistons that support the desired structure as per the attached slides.  The key structure we demonstrated here can help to maintain the bagger in the right position and could perform well in the normal customer usage.  With the feature of the non-Newtonian fluid, once the severe case described above happened to the Self-Checkout System, the non-Newtonian fluid will change the viscosity depending on the stress level.  Once the viscosity of the fluid changed, it will help to maintain the stability of the bagger as shown in the slides.
