Abstract:
This disclosure proposes to not disclose the specific name of the items that are purchased on the printed receipt. This keeps what you have just purchased anonymous from any onlookers or anyone who observes your receipt.
Background:
Many times, a receipt has the description of the listed items that were purchased. To hide personal information, personal details such as credit cards details are hidden. However the receipt will have description/name/information of the items that are being purchased. This disclosure proposes to not disclose the specific name of the item that everyone else would know, even if they bought from the same store the same exact same item.
Description:
A user will assign their own string of letters/numbers/symbols, images or icons to each item or a group of items. These user assigned names will be linked to the retailers' database. On the screen display or on print out soft/hardcopy will be displayed the user assigned string of letters/numbers/symbols, images or icons for this item or group of items. During check out, the retailer will tally the item or group of items as per normal. When receipt is being printed ,whether on the screen display or on print out soft or hardcopy, it will display the user assigned string of letters/numbers/symbols, images or icons. With this, it helps to maintain some form of anonymity of the items purchased. Say, someone who happens to pick up the print out soft or hardcopy or see display of string of letters/numbers/symbols, images or icons will not know what the specific item that is being sold/bought.
Use cases:
(1) Others will not know what customer have bought from the store unless they see the physical items.
(2) Also each customer may not at an instance get to know the price the Retailer charged for the same item to a different customer.
(3) If you order for others, you will need to generate a name for it when you put in the order.
Claims:
