All TGCS system units, and some I/O devices, are identified by a 4-digit machine type & 3-digit model number. Collectively this is known at machine type/model, or MTM.
The MTM & machine serial number can be found on a sticker on the front, side or bottom of each system unit. Note that serial numbers are not globally unique but they are unique across machine types.
Not all I/O devices & peripherals have machine types, some are just listed as feature codes of the original system unit.
Some items (mainly self-checkout & self-service) have 2 MTMs, one for the system unit and one for the self-checkout/self-service cabinetry and hardware.
Note that End of Service (EoS) and End of Engineering Support (EoES) are not the same thing; EoS is when we stop on-site service of the machine, EoES is when we stop doing updates (BIOS, firmware, etc) for it. The EoS and EoES dates are often not the same.
Some system units and I/O devices have already reach EoES status.
Any MTM not listed below is considered unsupported by L2/PE teams.
