Benissa Uwamwiza, a data analyst at Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, is a winner of the 2025 NEXT TECH Award by the NC Tech Association for her exceptional contributions to technology and innovation in the Tech: Sales and Marketing category. As a key member of Toshiba’s Customer Success Organization (CSO), Benissa empowers teams with actionable insights that drive extreme customer satisfaction (XCS). She also collaborates with senior leaders in Sales Ops, Business Intelligence, and Maintenance Services analytics to align Toshiba’s XCS data strategy with the broader company vision.
“Benissa’s unique ability to turn complex data into actionable insights has been instrumental in advancing our mission to deliver extreme customer satisfaction,” said Sheryl Paradise, Vice President of Customer Success at Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions. “Her work not only enhances decision-making across our organization, but also reflects her proactive, collaborative spirit and relentless drive to improve outcomes for our customers. Benissa approaches every challenge with curiosity, determination, and a passion for making a difference—from driving customer insights to mentoring the next generation of women in the workforce.”
In her role, Benissa is a driving force behind Toshiba’s customer success data strategy. She delivers critical insights through dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions that enable teams to enhance customer satisfaction and portfolio health. Her work simplifies complex processes, aligns cross-functional initiatives, and equips leaders with the tools they need to make data-informed decisions that elevate the customer experience.
“I’m incredibly honored to receive the NC Tech Award for the work I do both within and beyond Toshiba. I truly love what I do—whether it’s diving deep into data trends, simplifying complex insights to support my colleagues, or being a part of a team that’s committed to achieving both personal and professional success,” said Benissa Uwamwiza. “I know how impactful mentors and female role models can be, which is why I actively strive to be that kind of presence in my community, especially for young women. I’m deeply grateful to my mentors, leaders, and colleagues at Toshiba who believe and advocate for me."
Benissa is also actively involved in organizations that align with her values of empowerment, mentorship, and community impact. She serves on the advisory board for a women’s group at her alma mater, Gustavus Adolphus College, supporting an organization dedicated to helping women advocate for themselves, live with purpose, and contribute to a better world. She also volunteers with Read and Feed, a nonprofit focused on improving childhood literacy. Through these efforts, she channels both her data-driven mindset and her personal journey into meaningful mentorship and service beyond the tech community.
The NEXT TECH Awards are a joint initiative of NC Tech and Business North Carolina to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of non-c-suite employees in the state’s tech and tech-enabled sectors. The awards highlight the individuals who excel in their roles, drive business growth, and engage within their communities. Benissa will be honored at the 2025 NC Tech NEXT TECH Awards celebration in May.
